Transferable Skills

For a successful career in today’s agrifood industry, professionals need to improve and update not only their specialist technical skills but also transferable skills.

The AgriFood ATP aims to update professionals in four main transferable skills areas that have relevance and provide a contextual underpinning to the technical courses that are covered in our Food and Nutrition, Crops and Animals pages.

Business and 'soft skills' such as communications, teamwork and leadership are offered in our Business and Management Skills courses.

The whole food supply chain is tasked with managing resources more efficiently and effectively, courses that examine these issues are included in Environment and Sustainability

Skills underpinning technical understanding relating to interpretation of reports and writing effecting proposals are covered in Research, Data Handling and Study Skills

The interdependence of soils, ecosystems and an understanding of the biological, chemical and physical attributes of soil structure and watercourses are covered in our courses on Soil Science and Water Management.
